We welcome guests to church from many backgrounds, nationalities and age groups. Our style tends to be relaxed and so most people dress comfortably, and enjoy the very warm and social atmosphere that we have on Sundays.
Our services are at 10:30am and 6pm, and usually last around 90 minutes. This page explains what to expect from a typical service at Waterfront Community Church.
Our time of worship during the service consists of singing vibrant songs of thanks to God in a contemporary and informal style. We are comfortable if people want to offer their personal worship openly, but our aim is that our thanks to God is heart-felt and genuine.
At each service, a speaker will talk about an aspect of God or Christian living based on the Bible. These talks are informative and often thought-provoking! If you miss the service or if a particular talk interested you then you can download them as mp3’s by clicking here.
Most Sunday mornings we share communion together, which is the breaking and eating of bread and drinking of wine to remind us of the death and resurrection of Jesus. Anyone who accepts Jesus as their personal saviour is able to receive communion, and this part of the service is often a time of quiet personal reflection.
During the sermon, Junior Church (church for kids) takes place for children aged 3 years upwards. All our Junior Church helpers are CRB checked and fall within the guidelines of Waterfront Community Church Child Protection Policy. For infants under 3 we have Creche facility available throughout the service, but parents must supervise their own children at all times. The creche has an audio and visual link to the service.
This is a good time to make new friends, meet the Pastors, or just chill out over tea / coffee.
